Jaqs' 2nd Birthday: A Donut Party!

Since we recently moved into our new home, we decided to keep J's 2nd birthday party pretty simple and went with a donut theme! The girl can go to town on some donut holes, and her room is full of pink and gold, so it was super easy to pull together!
the invites: created on PicMonkey
the table set-up...full of ALL the donuts
Rob brought birthday flower for Jaqs for the 2nd year :)
Jaqs' donut...pink with sprinkles, of course!
J's stats, color sheets for the kiddos, and the donut on the front door
"donut seeds" AKA captain crunch donut cereal...perfect for our theme!
the drink station...complete with mimosas!
have to have dunkin' donuts coffee!
a little treat for the kiddos to take home

sweet friends & the party outfit!
Jaqs had a great 2nd birthday, and we had a blast celebrating her! Thank you to each and every one of you that joined us and helped make her big day extra special. We're so thankful for our family and our friends (old & new!) in Abilene! :)

SIL's birthday weekend!

This weekend started off on a sour note with a tough Wildcat loss, but thankfully it only went up from there. My side of the family all came to celebrate my SIL's birthday!
My brother and I went to the game together on Friday while the GGs babysat Jaqsy girl, so it was fun to get some time in with him :) We always share a lot of laughs!

Saturday morning was mostly lazy until us girls ran around a bit. A cold front came through, so we actually got to wear fall clothes! It was wonderful; Jaqs & I were excited!
My mom and I came home and got things ready for Nicole's birthday dinner!
jumperoo is a nice touch, no?
We had a delish steak dinner with all the sides then Nicole opened her gifts. I made her a yarn wreath and a little canvas with their dating/engagement/wedding dates in additional to a couple other things that weren't homemade. Ha!
We also played some games...Jaqsy girl was even there! See her? ;)
Our big girl decided to top off the weekend by sitting up on her own! It didn't last too long before she fell over, but STILL! She's growing up too fast already.

Hope you have the happiest of birthdays, Nicole! We love you!

bye week

This last week was our bye week, so we didn't have a game Friday night. Rob was originally supposed to scout, but we found out that day that he didn't have to which meant we got to have a family night ON A FRIDAY in the FALL! It was so nice to have some uninterrupted time with our favorite guy :)
don't they look so excited to be together? love them.
We didn't do anything truly noteworthy, just dinner and some shopping. It was a treat just to be together, really. We stopped in at Old Navy, and Jaqsy girl was loving the Old Navy mannequins. She was talking and smiling so big at them...too funny!
social girl
Rob also had off Saturday, so our friends from home, Jerrod & Julie, came to see us! We always have a good time with them, and this weekend didn't disappoint :) We had lunch when they got here, hung out, played games, and just got caught up with each other. It was so fun to have them come stay with us again! Thanks Carroll's for making the trek to Temple! Can't wait to do it again!
is the outfit julie got jaqs not ADORABLE?! love.
We also celebrated an awesome 11 year old this weekend. Lyssa is my friend, Cassi's, daughter, and she had a paint party with her girlfriends! How great of an idea is that?
Roxanne did a guided paint with the girls, and their canvases turned out SO CUTE. Each of them were unique and beautiful. Us big girls are thinking we need to do this now too :)
How blessed are Cassi and I? Just look at these gorgeous girls...
puts a smile on my face to see Lys loving on J

I'm so thankful for the renewed spirit that a bye week brings! It was wonderful to have some extra time with Rob, and now we're ready to start district this week!
