pumpkin patch

As I said yesterday, we took Jaqs to the pumpkin patch this past weekend, and we had such a great time! There was a petting zoo, pony rides, a kiddie train, and a few other little activities for the kiddos.
If you know Jaqs, you know she is an animal LOVER, so she had the best time at the petting zoo! Daddy held her to start, but she wanted down with the sheep, goats, deer almost immediately. She took right to hand feeding them and even kissed the deer on the head! Ha! I pretended like I was completely okay with it ;) It was pretty cute, I have to say.
Jaqs even got to ride a pony! I thought this would be a dream come true for her, and she loved it at first, then hopped right off mid-stride. Oh well...makes for cute pictures!
We spent most of our time chasing her around from one activity to the next!
She was definitely in her element, running around outside without many boundaries.
I had this idea in my head that we were going to get some cute pictures of her sitting with all the pumpkins. NOT! She was way too busy for all that. She had fun picking out pumpkins though!
The one thing she kept going back to again and again was the tetherball. This little lady is seriously obsessed with sports already, so she absolutely loved swinging that ball around the post. She giggled the whole time!
I'm so glad we get to enjoy these fun family outings with our sweet pea!
Everything is more fun {and more adventurous!} with Jaqs.

cool down

It is FINALLY cooling off a little bit here in Texas...praise the Lord!!
Jaqs and I can actually go outside in the evenings and ENJOY it! Baby girl really loves being outdoors...she will almost always calm right down if she's cranky which means that outside is a great place to be during that "witching hour" before bedtime.
Last night it was a cool 82 degrees, and it felt so nice...we were both in heaven!
loves being on her tummy now...go Jaqsy!
the ever-adored, football man
OBSESSED with those feetsies
*heart exploding*
Ahh, I have a feeling we will be spending a lot more time rolling around in the grass and strolling through our neighborhood now that fall is showing its gorgeous face! :)

fall fashion

I'm pretty sure everyone is thrilled that Fall is on its way, and I'm certainly no different.
I love, love everything about this time of year! Of course we're still nearing 90 degrees every day, but that feels AWESOME compared to what it has been! Hopefully I can bust my skinny jeans, leggings, sweaters, and boots out very soon!
Here are a few things I came across on Pinterest & Fashion Worship that I'm loving...
love that chunky, striped sweater
denim
i'm always obsessing over leopard!
loving chambray!
casual...this is closer to what i'll actually be wearing ;)
i think i NEED this shirt! it's on etsy for $20!
Hoping to replicate some of these looks this season!
And a question...how do y'all feel about white AFTER labor day?
The Today Show tells me that the old rule is out and that white can transition into Fall/Winter now. What do you think?

weekend lovin'!

We had another wonderful weekend! Filled with football, family, food, house projects and most of all, FUN! How did we get so blessed?! Thank you, Jesus.

My family pulled into town Friday evening, and I was so happy to see them! I always look forward to them coming to see us. We had a yummy BBQ dinner then headed out to Wildcat Stadium. We played Copperas Cove in yet another crazy, exciting game. Unfortunately, we came up short and lost 49-42. These close games are just so difficult, but a couple of the CC coaches told our guys that they could not believe the difference in this year's Wildcat team and last year's...like a whole new team, they said! Improvement. We keep reminding ourselves that change just takes time. So much good has happened in such a short time, and I know it's only going to get better from here!

*****

Saturday, the boys got up early...Rob to work, dad & KB to golf. The girls slept in a little bit then hit the road for Waco! I needed to get fitted (well, loosely) for my maid dress for Lexi's wedding in January. The dress is perfect! Love it! Good choice, bride :)
After a couple other stops, we came home to get ready for the evening. We were celebrating Nicole's birthday a little early while we were all together! We had a delish taco dinner with all the fixins' and GF chocolate cake...YUMMO! Family game-time followed.
We also worked on a few other house projects...I really need to post pictures of our house. SOON. This is my reminder to myself.
Mom helped me make this adorable Halloween wreath and "fall" up our porch a little bit!
Isn't it cute?! I just love it. The best part is, we didn't even steal it directly off of Pinterest.
Shocking, isn't it? ;) So proud.
Sunday came around too quickly, KB & Nicole left after breakfast, but mom and dad stuck around for a little bit. Dad painted some shelves for us while mom helped me clean up the house and get my cookies for the coaches ready for delivery. At Cooper, I took cookies to the defense every single Sunday. I haven't done that here so far, but this was my week for snacks, so Funfetti's it was! I made nearly 7 dozen cookies...of course, the dishes came home empty...surprise? Not at all. They're the best cake mix cookies ever!

Thanks for coming to see us, everyone! We had a blast, as always, and we're so thankful that y'all always come ready to help us with projects...yard, shelves, curtains, decor...we can do it all! Love you all...can't wait until next time :)
