weekend, wedding & wildcats

I mentioned on Friday that Jaqs and I were headed home for the weekend for a close friend's wedding, and we had a wonderful time on our visit! Jaqs did SO WELL in the car (hallelujah!) and was absolutely thrilled to be at GG & Pop's house. Of course, my precious mama had bed treats waiting for both of us! She's the best. If you go stay with her, you'll get them, too!
Rob's mom came over to visit her grand-girl after her nap that afternoon, and I'm glad they got the chance to play together for a couple hours, too! That evening, my parents and I took the little lady to Chuck E Cheese for the first time. She was apprehensive about everything going on but loved wandering around looking at all the games! Of course she loved the pizza, too ;)

We put Jaqs (and Pop...ha!) to bed, then my mama and I went on a girl's date. Ah, it was so good for the soul! Love getting to spend quality one-on-one time with my mom. I hope to be everything that my mom is to me to Jaqs one day.

Saturday afternoon was the play-off game, and unfortunately we lost. It is always bittersweet when the season ends, but the Wildcats had an awesome season this year. I know Rob is proud to have been a part of this team, and we're proud of him, too! I'd be lying if I said Jaqs and I weren't happy to have more time with him again though. We've missed him around here!

Saturday evening was the main event....Laura's wedding! Laura and I have been friends since birth as our parents are best friends, and she is one of those people that will ALWAYS be close to my heart as will the rest of her family!
My little pea got all fancy for the wedding, and I must say, she looked pretty sweet!

GG & Pop clean up nice, too!

Jaqs had an absolute BLAST at the wedding! She played with the other kids, ate cupcakes, and danced the night away with Pop. She was one happy girl.
One little boy was break dancing, and Jaqs decided to try it out for herself. Crazy girl! she did this several times throughout the night and had us cracking up. Love her.
my people...love my parents!

the beautiful bride!
Congratulations Laura & Brady!
May your lifetime together be filled with many blessings & lots of love!

The rest of our weekend was spent playing and running around town. As always, we had a wonderful time at home, and we're already looking forward to going back for Thanksgiving next week! Even more excited that Rob will be joining us on the trip for the first time since August! Woohoo!

fall weekend fun!

We had such a fun, Fall weekend, and I loved every minute! Pop came to keep his girls company for a couple days last week, and we're so glad he did! Mommy is basically off duty when Pop is around because Jaqs insists that he do it all ;) I don't think he minds, though.
Of course, Jaqs always has a few new tricks to show off {see upper right pic} and plenty of loving to give to one of her favorites.
We spent a lot of time at the park on Thursday evening/Friday morning, then we had to go cheer on daddy and our Wildcats Friday night! We were playing our big rival, and Jaqs did so well throughout the game! She got a little antsy towards the end and ran SPRINTS all around the stadium, but she made it to the end! It was well worth it, too because WE WON 54-20 over Belton! Rob was so happy to see his girl(s) after the big win! By the time we got J home, bathed, and in bed, it was nearly midnight. She was one pooped pea!
We slept in until 10 (!!!!!) Saturday morning, then Pop did a few things around the house for us before leaving to head back home. Jaqs was back down for a nap by the time Rob got home, so I got out for a little "mama time" with one of my girlfriends. We added a few things to our Fall wardrobes and maybe picked up a few things for our baby girls, too ;) We had a family dinner date Saturday evening, then Rob and I pretty much parked in on the couch the rest of the night. As you can see, he didn't last long! Poor guy.

On Sunday afternoon, Roxanne had the coach's wives over for our annual "Caramel Apple Sunday!" It is always so much fun, and I'm so grateful that she has kept this tradition going for all of us! Unfortunately, my toddler kept me from getting to participate much, but some of the other ladies picked up my slack (thanks Lexi & Susan!) and made my apples for me. I still had fun visiting and just being "away" for a few hours!

I LOVE FALL!!! And it looks like we're finally going to get some cooler temps this week! Praise the Lord....bring on those 70 degrees of perfection!! Hope you have a great week, too :)

1st Thanksgiving (and a picture overload)

Oh, HAAAAY! I've missed y'all!
We went home-home for the entire week of Thanksgiving, so I took a little blog break to spend time with friends and family. We had such a great week, and it was awesome to get to enjoy so much family time! Ready for some cuteness?

We left last Sunday morning and made the 3-hour trek back to Abilene. Jaqsy girl was a traveling rockstar; she slept about half the time and chatted me up the other half.
I have a feeling this won't be the last time I'll see those eyes conning me into something ;)
angel eyes
Grammie welcomed us with a hot lunch, and we just spent the afternoon playing and napping! G-Pop came home from work that night, and he got to be off with us for the entire week, too! Poor Grammie had to work the first half of the week, but we were pretty lucky to have so much time together.

We spent Monday and Tuesday having lunch dates, visiting with friends and Rob's family in between baby naps, and running errands to get ready for Thanksgiving!

On Wednesday, my dear friend, Kaila, came over to finally meet Jaqs! We've tried to get together several times, but she's an Okie now, so it's not like she can just drive down any ol' weekend! I had SO much fun catching up with her. She's one of those friends that I can pick right back up where I left off with, and I adore that about our friendship! I'm happy there won't be as much time until our next visit :)
I think J was pretty excited to see Kaila, too!
Thursday was, of course, Thanksgiving! We have many things to be thankful for each year, but this year was especially sweet with the addition of our baby girl. I can't even imagine my life without her; she brings us unending joy and has taught me a lot in her almost 8 months of life. God is so GREAT for providing me this blessing.
We had a small Thanksgiving with my side of the family this year, but my momma still cooked up a feast! I wasn't as helpful this year as I usually am, but I tried in between chasing my babe ;) We had a DELICIOUS meal, and Jaqs even got to try some mashed potatoes; she much preferred her old favorite, sweet potatoes!
My cousin, Jessica, has a baby girl, Kenlee, who is about 6 weeks younger than J, and they came over to play after lunch! Jaqs was napping, but Kenlee hung in there until she got up. It was so cute to watch them together! They were just grabbing at each other's outfits and hands/faces. It was pretty adorable, and I think these 2 are going to have a lot of fun together as they get older!
3rd? cousins!
my Nana, dad & the girlies!
Jessica and me with our babes!
We went over to Rob's grandparent's house that evening for their Thanksgiving! We missed their meal because it was the same time as our first one, but we got to have dessert and hang out with everyone, so that's what we really cared about :) Jaqs LOVED watching their dogs run around. We don't have any, so it was all new to her. Rob held her and chased them around, and she was CRACKING up! It was hilarious and so precious, but much to my hubby's dismay, I stand by my no-pet policy for now! HA!
Grandma Galusha & Jaqs
After the Galusha festivities were over, we came back to G&G's house to wind down. Jaqsy Pea is all about rolling around nekkidies before her bath-time! Freedom!
giving mama paci sugars
On Friday morning, I went shopping with my mom & her BFF. It's tradition, and it is always a blast! I know a lot of people think that Black Friday shoppers are CRAY, and some of them are, but we just do it for the fun. I love being able to get a ton of gifts purchased and marked off my list in such a short amount of time. Bonus? I got some awesome deals this year, and I'm nearly done with my shopping! Whoooooop.

That night, our family friends came over for pizza and football, so I got to spend some time with my Nattie girl. If you've been reading for long, you may remember her, but I claim her as my "niece" even though we're not related. I just love that girl and can't believe she's FIVE now. I've loved watching her grow!
Jaqs & Natalie got some QT in also
On Saturday morning, we had to get up and get moving because we had a mini-photo-sesh with Megan! Of course it was the one FREEZING cold morning of the week, but Megan has a little girl, so she wasn't phased by the occasional whining of my girl. I've only seen a few teasers, but I'm anxious to get them all! I just know she got the perfect picture for our Christmas cards :)
mmmm, breakfast + GG lovings + practicing our new growling trick
J's outfit + teaser from Megan!
it's safe to say we're OBSESSED with this little lady
We headed back home on Sunday, and once again, the pea was a near perfect traveler! This time she decided to stay awake the entire ride, but she was happy the whole way home, so I'm thankful for that. Once we got home, Jaqs conked out at 6:45 and slept until 8:30 the next morning, so I think she was worn out from her week of FUN!

Thanks for always being the BEST hosts ever, Mom and Dad!
Can't wait to do it again at Christmas :)

I think I'm all caught up now and can get back to 'regular' (whatever that is for me) blogging. I hope you had a fantastic Thanksgiving and are filled with joy during this magical season!

home-home

We've been lucky enough to get to spend some time home-home in Abilene this week, and we've had a lot of fun! Last Friday night Rob took his grandparents to Lubbock to see his brother graduate, so I third-wheeled it with my parents on their anniversary date.
They were celebrating 34 years!
Aren't they cute?
They are the greatest example to my brother and me of what marriage should look like, and we're so thankful to have grown up with them as our parents.
I pray that we can do the same for our own children...it's the greatest gift.

On Saturday night, Rob and I went to the wedding of our friends Jay & Ashley!
dressed up & ready to go!
the gorgeous bride! she looked awesome.
my forever friend--anna
in case it isn't obvious, this is the bride's twin sister, Emily! love those girls.

After the wedding, we went to hang out with coaching friends still at Cooper. I can't remember whether I ever mentioned it or not, but one of the coaching families bought our 'old' house in Abilene, and that's where we hung out Saturday. It's always funny to go back into that house now because it feels like I should still be living there. We only lived there for about 5 months, after all! Anyway, it was fun to be with everyone again...we always have a good time with them! :) Plus, 3 of us are preggo, so there's lots of baby talk.

We're just hanging out and enjoying family and friends now! We're finished with Christmas shopping, and all the presents are wrapped. I'm so excited for Christmas this year! We even have a chance for snow on Christmas Eve! YAY!!

forever friends.

You know those friends that you just know will be your friends forever?
The kind that you don't necessarily have to talk to every day to
know that they'll always have your back?
The kind that you could call at 2 a.m. just to cry to if you needed to?
The kind that you have so many funny memories with that you could laugh the whole time you're together just reminiscing?
Yeah, I've been blessed with some of those.
And I'm so thankful for them.
Anna has been my BFF since 5th grade...
we've shared more than half of our lives (whoa) together, and I just love her!
Ketrin came into our lives in high school. She is so much fun.
We were even roomies for a short period of time...
but we realized we'd rather be friends than roomies ;)
Ha, I'm just glad we recognized that & got to spare our friendship.
 We've spent many-a-night together...
 Been on trips together...
Celebrating together...
And just living life together.
Last Tuesday, they came to town to see Rob and me.
It was, of course, a blast! And went by way too fast.
They are so excited about Baby G, and that just warms my heart.
Love you girls! Thanks for coming to see us.
Must happen again soon.
