FINALLY!!

Y'all. I have missed this blog & all of you (are there any of you left?? ;)) SO MUCH!
We have been without internet in our home since moving in in March, but I'm happy to say that the internet gods finally got their act together & spread lines in our neighborhood which means I CAN FINALLY BLOG AGAIN! Woohoo!! It's been a long 7 months!

There's no way I could ever make up everything that I've missed, so I'll hit the high points and go from there...

On April 18th we got a HUGE surprise and found out that our family would be growing!
You may remember that we had trouble conceiving the first time around, and I think I'm still in a little shock that this "just happened" on its own. God is so good, and I think He knew that I wasn't quite sure when the "right" time would be, so He just went ahead and let me know that it was time!

We found out this summer that baby #2 was a BOY!! And a healthy one at that :)
I'm 35 weeks as of today, and our little man is expected to arrive around December 15th. Hopefully I can share more on this pregnancy really soon! I hate that I don't have the same documentation this time around, but I'm sure that baby boy will forgive his dear ol' mom.
Jaqs was a flower girl for the first time in a friend's wedding in June, and oh was it precious! She sprinted down the aisle then danced the night away. She had a BALL! And she'll get to do it again in February for her Uncle Will's wedding, so let's hope history repeats itself with her flower girl duties.
We had an awesome summer spent with old friends...
 And new friends...
 Then another football season began...
It's been a bit of a roller coaster, but our Coogs got a share of the district title & will play their first round of play-offs this Friday!! GO COUGARS!!
Jaqs also started Mother's Day Out twice a week this fall, and she is LOVING IT! I was unsure of how long it'd take her to adjust and enjoy it, but she jumped right in (without a tear) and has made me so proud. My sweet big girl. I need to do an update of my TWO & A HALF year old before she becomes a big sister!
I think that's about all I can muster for my first post-hiatus-post ;) I hope to be back SOON!

fall weekend fun!

We had such a fun, Fall weekend, and I loved every minute! Pop came to keep his girls company for a couple days last week, and we're so glad he did! Mommy is basically off duty when Pop is around because Jaqs insists that he do it all ;) I don't think he minds, though.
Of course, Jaqs always has a few new tricks to show off {see upper right pic} and plenty of loving to give to one of her favorites.
We spent a lot of time at the park on Thursday evening/Friday morning, then we had to go cheer on daddy and our Wildcats Friday night! We were playing our big rival, and Jaqs did so well throughout the game! She got a little antsy towards the end and ran SPRINTS all around the stadium, but she made it to the end! It was well worth it, too because WE WON 54-20 over Belton! Rob was so happy to see his girl(s) after the big win! By the time we got J home, bathed, and in bed, it was nearly midnight. She was one pooped pea!
We slept in until 10 (!!!!!) Saturday morning, then Pop did a few things around the house for us before leaving to head back home. Jaqs was back down for a nap by the time Rob got home, so I got out for a little "mama time" with one of my girlfriends. We added a few things to our Fall wardrobes and maybe picked up a few things for our baby girls, too ;) We had a family dinner date Saturday evening, then Rob and I pretty much parked in on the couch the rest of the night. As you can see, he didn't last long! Poor guy.

On Sunday afternoon, Roxanne had the coach's wives over for our annual "Caramel Apple Sunday!" It is always so much fun, and I'm so grateful that she has kept this tradition going for all of us! Unfortunately, my toddler kept me from getting to participate much, but some of the other ladies picked up my slack (thanks Lexi & Susan!) and made my apples for me. I still had fun visiting and just being "away" for a few hours!

I LOVE FALL!!! And it looks like we're finally going to get some cooler temps this week! Praise the Lord....bring on those 70 degrees of perfection!! Hope you have a great week, too :)

bye week{end}

Happy Fall, y'all! Did you all enjoy your first official fall weekend?! We finally had a cool down, and the 80 degree temps have never felt better. We've been spending more time outside than in, and that makes for one happy little girl in this house.

Another thing that makes for a happy tot? Having daddy home! This was our open week, so Rob got home Friday around 4:30 & was home until noon on Sunday. It was GLORIOUS! This weekend is always so refreshing and gears us all up for district play which begins this week.
We took it pretty easy on Friday. It rained ALL day long which was SO needed, and we were glad to have it. We snuggled, ate taco soup, and watched recorded football games....ahh, spending time together on a Friday night during football season is bliss!
On Saturday, we headed for the park not too long after breakfast to enjoy the crisp (okay, 75 degree) morning. Of course, Jaqs would rather be no where else than the park! We have pretty much been living there over the last couple of weeks, and she has no qualms about that.
We also went to the pet store to look at the "eesh" then had lunch with our friends before nap time!

That evening, we had a birthday party to go to...
It was at our bowling/arcade/family center, and it was so much fun!
Little Miss Piggy ate three pieces of pizza and had a great time running around from game to game with her daddy then picking out some REAL prizes with her tickets ;)
Of course, all good things must end, so it's back to just me and the pea now that daddy is back to work, but that's okay because we had a lot of QT together this weekend. Loved every minute. We are blessed.

**This picture has nothing to do with the weekend, but J has a little scrape on her leg, and she's been folded up in a pretzel to kiss it too many times to count this weekend. Silly baby!**

I hope your week is off to a great start! I'm planning to be around the blog a little more this week than I have over the past few...missing my bloggy buds! Wish me luck ;)

lately...

I never did get around to my weekend post, so how about a little mid-week update instead?

*Last Friday, my family of 3 loaded up & headed to Dallas to meet one of my favorite blog friends, Mateya! She was in town for an AdvoCare convention, and I knew we wouldn't probably get this opportunity again soon, so off we went! I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a little nervous, but y'all, it was SO FUN....not at all awkward/weird. It was like we've known each other forever, and we were just getting "caught up." Our morning went so fast, and we've already said this HAS to happen again....when & where are the questions ;) Can't wait!
*Well, this has started happening. Thankfully she hasn't actually made it over the rail yet, but I won't be surprised if it happens soon. The good news is that she just lays down and goes to sleep at night....let's pray it stays that way!
*Is there anything like seeing your baby and baby-daddy in a sweet moment? I just don't think there is...it's THE BEST. We've been missing daddy around here this week for sure.
*We had our annual program pics on Sunday, and OH MY. Jaqs refused to put the FULL sized football down, so it will be our 4th family member in this year's picture. Oh well. Last year we had a 4 month old stone-faced baby, this year we'll have a 16 month old my-way-or-no-way toddler. These are the days! ;)
*We try to have Rob's position kids over a couple times during the season for dinner, so we had our kick-off dinner Sunday. We teamed up with the other secondary coach and his wife, and I think everyone had a good time! Jaqs just got right in there with those big boys to play ball. I'm glad she did because this is going to be a big part of her little life!
*Of course, Jaqs was dressed for the occasion, but she lost her bow at some point, so she ended up looking like the most precious baby boy :)
*Last but certainly not least, I'm teaming up with some other ladies for a "goody bag" giveaway in honor of Kate @ The Green Fashionista's birthday!! Hop on over and enter to win some of my favorite things lately!!

Hope y'all are having a great week so far! Happy Wednesday!

Friday Randoms

Hi y'all! I know everyone is singing Friday's praise right now, and even though our weekend is completely up in the air, I'm no different! Love me some Friday.
I thought I'd take a cue from my friend, Mateya, and take part in a little "Friday Randoms" action.

So, the reason I don't know what's happening this weekend?
We had a game last night, and WE WON! 63-56 (track meet!) Whether or not we're continuing on to play-offs will depend on another game in our district tonight which means I don't know whether the man will be working or at home. Phew. We shall see!
GO CATS!
Moving right along...Jaqs' new favorite activity while I'm trying to change her diaper? Yep, rolling right on out of it. She is a major busy body these days! The leg chub is coming along nicely though, right? I love a good baby bobo picture, but I don't want to embarrass her too badly ;)
don't worry-it's clean.
And just for good measure, here's another adorable picture of my baby doll. The little smirk on her face paired with her foot kicked up is enough to due me in. I could die of cuteness overload. Not partial at all over here ;)
How I feel every single day:
I know many of you are probably feeling the same way I am about all this political business...OVER IT. Isn't it great how everyone on FB becomes an expert? Oh wait, no.
So this will be the first and last you'll hear from me about it:
lady in RED.
I also wanted to mention that I'm hosting an online Scentsy party for Mateya, so if you're interested in shopping that, we'd both greatly appreciate it! :) Plug-in warmers and refill packs would make perfect stocking stuffers!

Hope you lovelies have a wonderful weekend!

better late than never!

Friday night was a BIG night for the Temple Wildcats! It was Texas high school football's game of the week against {previously} ranked #8 in the state, Austin Westlake.
I think it's safe to say that our kids were seriously underestimated going into this game as Westlake is known for it's winning history, and we weren't ranked before this HUGE win.
3 amigos: dunnam, galusha & berna
The game was back-and-forth...equal parts exciting and nerve-wracking, but the kids stuck together, played their hearts out, and pulled out an AWESOME win: 49-42 was the final score.

Everyone was pretty amped up after this sweet victory! We have another thrilling game coming our way this Friday night...can't wait!

Saturday morning Jaqs and I got to have breakfast with some girlfriends and fellow coaches wives that were in town from Abilene. It was so good to catch up!
That evening we had friends over to cook-out and hang out....FUN times, as always!

Sunday mornings are always good around here because daddy is home! We just wake up slow, drink coffee, and PLAY with baby! Simple pleasures for sure.

We even had a little "cool" front blow in over the weekend, so we broke out the baby legs for Jaqs again...safe to say I'm obsessed with those things. They're adorable on her chubby leggies!

Here's to another week! Hope your's is awesome!
