C-Wives

Coach's Wives definitely share a special bond! It's not always easy to have a husband that is gone for 90+ hours a week during football season, but these ladies make it so much easier! I am so blessed to know each and every one of them. I am extremely thankful that Rob and I were placed on this staff as our first. I didn't know what to really expect when he was first hired on at Cooper, but from the time that I first met with this group of coach's wives, I felt welcomed. We have all been together for about two years now, and I treasure these friendships. Here are some of the fun times we've had together so far....

I think my favorite thing about this group is that we hang out even when it's not football season. We're not friends because we have to be but because we want to be. We share meals, laughs, games, crafts, celebrate birthdays, travel, chit chat over coffee, and cheer on our team together! (Just to name a few!)

How blessed am I?!

Randomness

Rob and I went out with friends on Saturday night and had a blast! Somehow, I only ended up taking three pictures, and one of them is fuzzy! Darn! I'm gonna have to work on that.

Here's me with some of my favorite girls! I met them working at Lytle, and we always have so much fun together. Ashley's (twin on the left) boyfriend wants to be a coach too! We already have future plans to be on the same staff...haha! Hopefully that will work out for us someday!

And in other news, here's what I made for dinner tonight. I know it doesn't look all that appetizing, but I thought it was really yummy. Since going gluten-free, I've had to modify old favorites. It's been an adventure thus far, but it gets easier everyday! Today was my first attempt at making sirloin beef tips in brown gravy, and it was a success! I'm miserably full now, so that's a good sign, right? PS - Please don't judge me for using paper plates! It's one less dish for me to wash :)

And my last random tidbit for this post is something that Rob said earlier that just made me laugh, so I wanted to write it down so I don't forget it. Our conversation went something like this...

Me - "Will you pay the bills?"
Rob - "Sure, how do I do that? Do I write a check?"

This just cracked me up because he really has not written a check or paid a bill since we've been married. Poor guy has forgotten how to write checks! Oh well, I don't mind being his secretary!

Hope your week is great! :)

You gotta love Saturdays! After a busy morning of power-lifting meets and football scrimmages, Rob is sawing logs on the couch....

Pretty in PINK!

This little guy I found at Home Goods last weekend has inspired me to give you a "tour" of my kitchen...

I have always loved to cook and bake, so I began collecting all my kitchen goodies when I was in high school. Rob's grandmother came across these pink Kitchen Aid appliances in a catalog one day, and she knew I would love them. She was right! With every paycheck I earned, I would order a few things from the catalog. I was also gifted with pink kitchen gadgets galore by she and my mom. Here's my favorite room of our house...

Many of the things I have have been given to me. The piggie cutting board and the antique salt and pepper shakers belonged to my great grandparents and were given to me by my grandmother. The old-fashioned refrigerator was given to me by my mom's best friend, it's full of handy things like a measuring tape, mini pencils, erasers, and a sharpener! Also pictured is the "salt pig" that inspired the addition of piggies to my kitchen. My mom found that treasure for me!

Here's where the magic happens...
My mom and I added this little shelf above the stove, we can be pretty handy when necessary!
Holiday dish towels are a must for me, I think I have them for every occasion except the 4th of July--that would clash ;)

Rob's grandmother gave me these "Bubble & Brown" casserole dishes by Rachael Ray for Christmas. I L.O.V.E these things! They make everything looks so pretty!

A little peak inside one of the cabinets...

And here's our dining room. Our table is a Big Lots steal, don't you love that place?! And the flowers were painted for me by my brother's college roommate! Oh, and that's my Easter outfit sitting on the table!

Now, you may be asking yourself what my husband thinks of all the pink. He actually doesn't mind because we made a deal when I began buying all this stuff that I would cook often if I could have my pink! He agreed, but I do have to admit it does make me giggle to see him making his scrambled eggs in a pink frying pan!

Spring Break 2010

Breaks from school always go by SO fast, and this Spring Break was no different! Rob and I had a great week off together, and I savored every moment as this will probably be the last Spring Break I will get to enjoy! The first weekend was spent hanging out with friends that were in town and family. I had to work at the beginning of the week, and we went to San Antonio the last half! My brother, Kenneth, lives in S.A., so we love to go visit him. Kenneth recently got engaged to Nicole, and we are so happy for them! I'm looking forward to finally having a sister :) Nicole invited us to stay with her while we were there, and KB crashed on an air mattress in the office, so we had a 4-day slumber party! Had to take a picture of the gorgeous fresh flowers Nicole had waiting in our room...

On Friday, we went to Fiesta Texas! It was PACKED, so we didn't get to ride as many rides as we would have liked, but we still had fun! My brother always keeps us entertained with his witty and silly sense of humor.

Waiting for the latest and greatest roller coaster, The Goliath. It was bright!

Soon to be Mr. & Mrs.!

Saturday was spent shopping, napping, going to church, and eating at my FAVORITE restaurant...P.F. Changs! YUMMY! They have the best gluten free menu, and they've added even more to it recently, so I got to enjoy Mongolian Beef and chocolate cake! I was in heaven!

Thanks again KB and Nicole....we had a great weekend! Y'all are awesome hosts :) Can't wait to do it again! We love you!

First Post!

I've finally done it! After many months of "blog-stalking," I've decided to start a blog of my own. I'm excited to have a place to document my thoughts and the happenings of our life and family.

A little something about us....

Rob and I were married on July 5, 2008.

Rob is now a high school teacher and football coach. We are so blessed to be where we are! We have made some amazing friends and love it here!

I am a senior at a local university finishing up my degree in biology. I will graduate in December, and I am so looking forward to being DONE!

A HUGE thanks to Roxanne for helping me start my blog, you are awesome! Let the blogging begin :)
