Decisions, Decisions...

WHY in the world does picking out furniture have to be SO difficult?! I've been wanting new living room furniture for awhile now because most of what we have has been given to us, so it's kind of a hodge-podge of stuff, and I'm just ready for a change! Here's what our living room looks like now...(ignore the stuff laying around...I just snapped these pictures to post a few minutes ago :))

I'm wanting to do a chocolate brown sofa that isn't as wide as what we have now. Maybe something like this?

Or this...I love the chair in this picture, too!

I also like the chocolate brown version of this sofa/chaise combo...

I would also like to get a cute accent chair that is still comfy and functional. I would rather not have to change EVERYTHING in the living room, so I need something that will blend with the artwork and zebra rug we have now. It maybe tricky - Ha!

Rob would never go for this, but I LOVE daisies! :) They're just so happy!

Adorable.

If I ever make a decision, I'll be sure to show ya! :)

Sunday Lovin'

I think Sunday is definitely my favorite day of the week! After church and lunch with family, Rob and I almost always go to my parents' house to hang out. Mom and I can usually be found in the kitchen...

Cooking up something delicious, of course! This is what we made last Sunday...

Grilled chicken, Pioneer Woman's crash hot potatoes (which are AMAZING!), jalapeno poppers minus the bacon, tomato, cucumber & avocado salad & mint iced tea!

While we cook, Rob does this...

And my dad can usually be found at the golf course!

Sundays are just perfect...well, until I'm forced to do this....

Hope your weekend was happy!

Celebrating Dad

Tonight, we celebrated one of my favorite guys....my daddy, of course! He's not going to be here for Father's Day, so the family got together tonight for a BBQ.

My dad is a special guy, and I absolutely adore him! He's made quite the impression on Rob too...
A little side note: my dad did not speak to Rob the first night they met...he didn't like the fact that his little girl (15 at the time) was "hanging out" with this older (18 at the time) guy who happened to be a little bit bigger than him ;) Now these two are big buds! I love the fact that my dad and my husband get along so well. Rob actually lost his dad when he was very young, so to see him have such a special relationship with my dad means the world to me.

Here they are dancing (or something) at our wedding....

I have a lot to be thankful for!

Thanks, dad, for all that you do! You keep me smiling, laughing, and, of course, rolling my eyes! I love you lots, and I'll always be your little girl!

In my dreams,
I'll always see you soar
Above the sky, in my heart
There will always be a place for you, for all my life
I'll keep a part of you with me,
And everywhere I am,
There you'll be.
And everywhere I am,
There you'll be.

Well you showed me how it feels
To feel the sky within my reach,
And I always will remember all the strength you gave to me
Your love made me make it through
Oh, I owe so much to you,
You were right there for me

'Cause I always saw in you
My light, my strength
And I want to thank you now for all the ways
You were right there for me
You were right there for me
For always...

Fiestas, Garage Sales & Friends

I've been meaning to post about our weekend since Sunday, but school has kind of put a bit of a damper on my blogging time. So, here's a little weekend recap on a Wednesday ;)

Thursday we went to a party to celebrate the upcoming marriage of some friends. Aaron coaches at Cooper with Rob, and Keathley teaches there! They are so much fun, and we are excited for their wedding!

Some of the girls at the party...Lexi, Mandi, Leslee (& Madden!), Vanessa, Cassi & Me

We spent Friday getting stuff ready for a garage sale and running errands for our party the next night. We set everything up on tables then shoved everything back into the garage...we looked like some serious pack rats!

The garage sale went good, but the best part was the company! My mom and her BFF, Lisa came along with Lisa's son and daughter-in-law and their precious girl. We all got rid of a lot of stuff and donated pretty much everything else.

Sweet Natalie and me taking a break inside. She was ready to go swimming!

After the sale, Rob and I cleaned house and got everything ready for our fajita fiesta!! It was a little end of school bash for all the coaches and their families. With the exception of the heat, we had a blast! We grilled the fajitas and everyone else brought the 'fixins.' The guys spent the rest of the night playing washers and cowboy golf while the girls chatted and played with the kiddos....it was such a fun night! Hopefully the first of many this summer :)

Rob & I ready for the party....

And part of the backyard....

That's all I got....can you believe it! I was too caught up in cooking and having fun to take pictures, apparently. Ohh wellll.

On Sunday we had a little family lunch then spent the rest of the afternoon at the pool. It was heaven! I don't think there's anything better than floating around the pool when it's 100 degrees outside. That night we went to our HC and his wife, Roxanne's for a shower for Aaron and Keathley. They grilled burgers (which were delicious) and we just hung out with our Cooper Coaching family again! I cannot tell you how special it is to be a part of this staff. Every time we're all together, I leave with a full heart. I'm trying to cling to this as much as I can because I know that it won't be like this forever (as much as I want it to be!!).

I think I'm caught back up again! I started summer school Monday, and it's already been quite a challenge. I'm taking Physics, which is already hard, but crammed into 4 weeks makes it a little more difficult. I'm trying to stay positive about it, so hopefully that lasts through August when Physics II gets over. A little prayer could never hurt though! ;)

Happy Hump Day!

God won't ask...

I got this in a forward and just wanted to share it because it is so true....sometimes it's so easy to get caught up in all the "stuff" in life instead of focusing on what truly matters.

God won't ask what kind of car you drove...

He'll ask how many people you drove who didn't have transportation.

God won't ask the square footage of your house...
He'll ask how many people you welcomed into your home.

God won't ask about the clothes you had in your closet...
He'll ask how many you helped to clothe.

God won't ask what your highest salary was...
He'll ask if you compromised your character to obtain it.

God won't ask what your job title was...
He'll ask if you performed your job to the best of your ability.

God won't ask how many friends you had...
He'll ask how many people to whom you were a friend.

God won't ask in what neighborhood you lived...
He'll ask how you treated your neighbors.

God won't ask about the color of your skin...
He'll ask about the content of your character.

God won't ask why it took you so long to seek Salvation...
He'll lovingly take you to your mansion in heaven, and not to the gates of Hell.

We serve a mighty God!

Memorial Weekend

What a FUN weekend we had! Since this is my "scrapbook" I'll just go day by day! :)

Friday - After we got off work, Rob and I headed over to my parents' house to hang out with the family....my brother and future SIL came in town for the weekend, and we always have a good time! We had a yum dinner made by my momma then we went over to hang out with family friends. It was a pretty low key evening, but still lots of fun! No pictures :(

Saturday - The boys went to play golf and the girls went SHOPPING! We had some success, and sweet Natalie (my brother's best friend's daughter) was such a good girl while the big girls shopped! She is definitely ALL girl....while we were looking through racks, she'd pull something out and say, "Look! Cuute!" So funny. On our way out, she wanted to ride the "horse," don't let her face fool you....she was having fun!

After shopping, we had some lunch and headed home to get all the food and stuff ready for that night. My grandparents came over for steaks and games...another fun night with no pictures :( Note to self: take pictures!!

Sunday - Rob and I headed to Possum Kingdom to celebrate Memorial Day with friends! We just hung out on the boat and floating around all afternoon Sunday. The raft I was floating on tipped me over when I leaned forward for this picture, so I look ridiculous because I was laughing so hard. Rob was trying not to drown while I was using him to hold myself up....haha thanks, babe! ;)

Monday - Happy Memorial Day!! Lexi and I were twinkies with our $1.97 Old Navy tanks!

The boysies wanted a picture too....

We went out on the boat early and went tubing....

The water was a little rough, so it was hilarious to watch everyone bouncing around.

Lil lovebirds ;) I'd also like to point out that I hooked these two up....just sayin'....

We had a BLAST at the lake! Thanks, Martin's! :)

Monday night, we celebrated one my BFF's birthdays with a BBQ!

Anna and me....

The roomies/party-givers....

Yet another fun night with friends! I'd say this weekend was definitely a success. Rob and I are so blessed with awesome family and wonderful friends!

Also, just wanted to say a big THANK YOU to all of our military personnel (past & present) for serving this country. THANK YOU for your selflessness and for protecting our freedom!
