I've got the fever...

"It's spring fever. That is what the name of it is. And when you've got it, you want - oh, you don't quite know what it is that you want, but it just fairly makes your heart ache, you want it so!"
-Mark Twain

I'm definitely one of those people that whatever season is approaching is my favorite! I am welcoming the arrival of Spring with open arms! This time of year is so beautiful...the weather is near perfect, the vegetation is breathtaking, and everyone just seems so cheerful.
It's hard to pinpoint exactly what "Spring fever" even is, but I've definitely got it!

Rob is off from school this week on Spring Break, and it looks like he'll have some great weather to enjoy it in! I'll be working all week, but I've got today off to enjoy with him. We have nothing on our agenda but a lunch date...I love days like that. I'm sure we'll just hang out and watch a movie or three :)

So, are y'all waiting on pins and needles for the Bachelor tonight?!?! I didn't even start watching it until a few weeks ago, but I'm totally hooked and 100% TEAM EMILY! I just know he's going to pick her...he's GOT to, right??
There are too many good shows on right now!
Topping my list:
Bethenny Ever After (I feel like she & I could be friends)
Army Wives
Criminal Minds
DC Cupcakes
Real Housewives of OC (the only "housewives" I "have" to watch!)

Are any of these on your "can't miss" list??

Saturday Ramblings

The Cooper Cougars won their first play-off game last night! We played Arlington Lamar on our home field and won 41-6!! We are excited to be Bi-District Champs and will be playing in round 2 Friday night against Amarillo Tascosa! The Coogs are rockin', and we could not be more proud! I love how excited Rob is right now; he told me last night that "this is the BEST time of the year!" It really is, babe!

There are plenty of reasons why this is the best time of the year! I love the anticipation and excitement for the holidays! The holiday Coffee-mates are out, and it's kinda silly how happy they make me! I'm like an old lady looking forward to coffee every chilly morning :)

Don't get me wrong, I love sweatpants & comfy jammies, but have y'all seen these things?! They look ridiculous...I can't imagine someone seriously wearing these out of the house. To each their own, I suppose.

I JUST discovered the loveliness that is Bath & Body Works wallflowers! They are awesome! I have creamy nutmeg in my house right now, and it smells like something is baking 24/7. I guess that could be good or bad...you decide. I think it's great.

One more ridiculous thing...this show. Bridal-Plasty. Why would we encourage cat-fights and nonsense all in the name of having head to toe plastic surgery? So stupid. It gets under my skin (no pun intended) every time I see the trailer for it.

And back to something happy: Cardi Uggs. I love 'em. So cozy!

I graduate in less than a month! Woohooooo! I can hardly wait.

And last, but CERTAINLY not least, the kind people over at CSN stores have contacted me to do another fun giveaway! And just in time for Christmas shopping!! If you've ever looked at their site, you know that you can get ANYTHING over there....from bar tables and stools to baby gear to kitchen necessities! So stay tuned for that!

Thank you ladies for your kind words & encouragement on my last post! I appreciate it more than you know! Y'all are awesome :)

Happy Weekend!!

Twos...

Everything seems to be coming to me in twos tonight, so I'm just gonna go with it...this post is going to be all over the place, but that's just life sometimes, right?! Right. Thanks for agreeing.

In honor of "premier week" on TV I'll start with two shows I can't miss...

First of all, Dr. Oz...I love this man! He's a genius. I learn so much just from watching his show! Remember when I saw him in New York? Ahh...

I'm almost embarrassed to even admit I watch this show, but I (shamelessly) watch it every.single.Tuesday. It's kind of addicting. The worst part is this isn't my only MTV "reality" addiction. Let's just say I also tune into a show that involves lots of fist pumping, guido/ettes and GTL. Pathetic right? Rob watches it too...don't tell him I told you though ;)

Now how about two pictures from last weekend? We had a little football watching shindig with good friends...it was so much fun!

Did I tell y'all Julie asked me to be a bridesmaid in her wedding next summer? And Rob is going to be one of Jerrod's groomsmen! We are so excited for them!!

Two trends I'm loving right now...
First up, jeggings! I know most people either love them or hate them, but I happen to love them. I'm a big fan of the "skinny" jean, but unlike Zoe Saldana I choose to cover up the hiney with a long top. How cute is she?! Adorable. Love that scarf too.

Leopard...I'm loving all things leopard! Of course, this isn't really a trend because it seems to always be in style, but it seems like it's EVERYWHERE right now. This bag is to die for, but at $1,950, I won't be getting it anytime soon! Drooling...

I told y'all this would be random, here are two things I cooked this week...
Herb roasted chicken.
This is the first whole chicken I've ever made, and I was feeling pretty proud of myself! I'm not sure why I've never made it before, I guess I was just intimidated by it, but it turned out SO good! I even made gravy. I kinda felt like my grandma :) In a good way, of course!

And "Better-for-You Chicken Parmesan." This was also DE-LISH! My mom & I made it together. If you want the recipe, let me know and I'll post it sometime soon!

There are two things I'm absolutely dreading about this weekend. The first is these stupid fruit flies. For my Genetics lab, we have to breed and cross-breed fruit flies in order to study different genetic mutations...jealous yet? Well, these things reproduce pretty quickly, so we have to monitor them every 10 hours to sort out the "babies" from the adults and the males from the females in order to control which flies mate and which do not. It gets worse...BOTH of my lab partners will be out of town this weekend, so that leaves ME to go up to school every 10 hours to do all of this. Seriously?! I hope these things all breed by Saturday night, so I can skip the Sunday shift all together.

And secondly, I have to put together my power point presentation for my Senior Seminar (Biology capstone) class. I have to give a 30-40 minute presentation on Tuesday by.my.self. I'm so nervous already. I hate public speaking :( Especially in front of people who have their doctorate degrees in various fields of science. Any advice on how to calm my nerves? Picture them in their underwear? Lots of rehearsal? Xanax? I kid, I kid.

But the good news is that there are a couple things I AM looking forward to about the weekend!
Tomorrow night is Cooper's homecoming! It's also the school's 50th anniversary, so the game should be a lot of fun tomorrow night! I put this picture up to go with this because my mother-in-law dared me to wear my door decor as a mum. Haha, can you imagine the looks I would get? Rob would be so proud to call me his wife :)

And speaking of Rob, I'll be getting to spend some extra time with him this weekend! Next week is our open week, so the coaches are supposed to have ALL DAY Saturday off, their first since the beginning of August! I'm definitely looking forward to it :)

That's all I've got for ya. Happy Friday!!!

What I'm loving...

Not a lot going on around here other than school and work, so I thought I'd share some things I'm loving this summer!

White Watches...I just love 'em! I got this one the other day...so cute.

D.C. Cupcakes on TLC...have y'all watched this show? It's about 2 sisters who ditched their corporate jobs to open up a cupcakes-only bakery, and now they're famous for it! It's pretty entertaining, and their cupcakes are beautiful...I wonder if they make any gluten free flavors?

Sonic Happy Hour...this is nothing new. I try to not drink cokes during the week, but it's become a Saturday/Sunday afternoon ritual for Rob and me. I get Vanilla Coke with extra ice because I feel like more ice = less coke. It's all about being healthy. HA ;)

Summer Sandals...there are SO many cute varieties out there right now! I got these at Target the other day, and I think they're darn cute :) So fun.
Yesterday I finally caught up with the rest of the world and got an iPhone! I'm so excited about it! My parents got it for me as an early birthday gift! I'm already addicted to the thing.

And last but certainly not least, Rob has been away at coaching school for the last few days, so that means football season is upon us! While I'm not exactly looking forward to saying goodbye to my husband for 95ish hours a week, I am so ready for those Friday Night Lights and spending lots of time with my fellow coaches' wives! Go COUGS!
