Hey y'all! As you could probably guess, life has been busy! Being on the "schedule" of a newborn is kind of exhausting, but I wouldn't have it any other way. It does make it hard to get much done though, so my blog has been suffering. The free time I do have is spent getting a couple things done around the house, showering, napping, or maybe even getting out of the house for a bit. Hopefully I can get back in the swing of regular blog-posting soon, but until then, please bear with me? :) I've been working on Jaqs' birth story, so hopefully I can at least have that up soon!
Anyway, our baby girl is 2 & half weeks old already! Her first week was great as my parents were here helping and loving on our angel...it was so fun! The second week brought some drama. Jaqs started being extremely fussy at night and not sleeping. We were up one night from 11-4 with her screaming and obviously in pain. It was heart-wrenching. I cried right along with her because I just wanted to fix her. Poor Rob had 2 crying girls and didn't know what to do with either of us! I know babies cry, and I know they don't necessarily sleep wonderfully at first, but my mother's intuition told me something was not right. Thankfully, my mom was able to come later in the week again, and we finally figured out that it was the VITAMINS we were told to give her. She has been fine and back to her normal self since we took her off of them. Praise the Lord! I am irritated that the vitamins are recommended though; I thought that was the purpose of breastfeeding!
We had Jaqs' 2-week check-up today, and she's dong so well! She has already gained almost a pound, putting her up to 7 lbs, 11 oz. She's also grown an inch and a half, making her 19.5 inches long! What a big girl! Some of her newborn clothes are getting a little snug, and it makes this mama a little sad. I do love kissing her chubby cheeks though! Ah, nothing better.
Baby girl can hold her head up pretty well when she's on her tummy, LOVES to nurse (obviously), is still deciding how she feels about bath time, and adores being held and snuggled.
Mommy and Daddy are trying to figure out the whole scheduling thing and find ourselves googling things a lot to see what other parents have to say about whatever it is we're wondering about. Ha! Typical newbies, right? ;)
Just wanted to stop in for a quick update! Hope you all are doing well! My reader is full of blogs to get caught up on...someday! For now, I've got the most beautiful baby I've ever seen demanding much of my attention :)

So glad things are going well. Love that family picture...too precious! :)
She is precious... Congrats! :)
She's sooooo sweet and that family pic is precious. :)
Grammie Sugar thinks she is the most adorable baby girl as well, except for her mommy of course(;
Hey girl! Jaqs is too sweet :) I love seeing your pictures of her! And, you should try reading the "On Becoming Babywise" book by Gary Ezzo & Robert Bucknam (in alllll that spare time you have, right?)! Haha! But seriously, it's a fairly short book that teaches you all about different parenting styles & getting the baby on a good schedule. The first book really helped me get Emma Claire on a good eat-play-sleep schedule, which has helped soooo much! Good luck! :)
